Pro rodeo to benefit CCHS athletics

The Inaugural Chilton County Pro Rodeo is scheduled for June 21 and 22 with proceeds to benefit the Chilton County High School Athletic Department.

The two-day event will be held at the Central Alabama Horse Club Arena located at 897 County Road 453 in Clanton.

It is a Southeastern Professional Rodeo Association sanctioned event.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. on both nights. Admission is $10.

Not only will the rodeo be a new event held in the county, but it will also be the latest opportunity to raise money for the CCHS athletic program.

The athletic department recently partnered to host a pro wrestling event in March.

SPRA sanctioned events include bareback riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronco riding, barrel racing, breakaway roping and bull riding.

The Chilton County Pro Rodeo will be the first event for the SPRA’s 2019 season.

The Central Alabama Horse Club was founded in 1971.
