Clanton Intermediate holds annual Fun Day

Clanton Intermediate School closed out the year with its Annual Fun Day.

The Special Education Department at CIS sponsored the event, which was enjoyed by all.

School officials gave a special thanks to Pam Adams, a teacher’s aide in the CIS Special Education Department, for coordinating the event and making certain everything ran smoothly each year.

This event is a fundraiser for the special education teachers, and the money collected will allow the special education teachers to purchase materials needed throughout the year. Special Education teachers do not have homeroom students to assist with their school supplies needs like the general education teachers do each year from their start-up supply list.

In addition to Adams’ daily work duties, she was recognized and named earlier in the school year as “Employee of the Month.”

School officials thanked the following individuals and organizations for making this “Fun Day” another successful event:

•Clanton Police Department, K-9 Unit & SRO- David Hicks

•Martin Funeral Home (Jimmy and Mel Martin)

•Jac’s Party Rental, Clanton

•Cornerstone Fitness and Wellness, (Barry Baker and family, Michael Deason)

•Alabama Power (APSO President Jodi Webb and volunteers)

•Beeswax Bait and Grocery (Sandy McMon)

•Chilton County High School (2015-16 SGA members)

•CIS Special Education Department

•CIS PTO (President Misty Price)

•CIS administrators, (Principal Mark Stephenson and Assistant Principal Roger Sheffield)
