New Head Start program set for fall
Lease options were discussed for Community Development Institute Head Start during the July 10 Clanton Council meeting.
The institution is set to replace the previous Head Start program, which is no longer being funded by the state.
Community Development Institute serves Chilton, Autauga and Elmore counties and will take the place of the former program for the next year.
A bid will be sent out to another company at the end of next year.
The new program will continue to operate out of the E.M. Henry building in the West End area of Clanton.
A check for $1,000 was already given upfront to the city for the rest of the month’s utilities.
