CCHS introduces new tradition with alumni game

The basketball program at Chilton County High School is trying to establish traditions and one of them is an alumni game.

An alumni game is scheduled for Nov. 5 as part of Tiger Night festivities. The festivities get under way at 6 p.m., and the game is expected to start at 7:30 p.m.

According to CCHS girls basketball coach Paul DuBose, the hope is to get enough alumni interest to have a boys and a girls game.

“Even former coaches are welcome on the sideline,” DuBose said.

Any former CCHS basketball players that are looking to take part or in search of more information can contact DuBose at psdubose@chiltonboe.com or boys coach Austin Moncus at armoncus@chiltonboe.com.

“Once you’re a Tiger, you’re always a Tiger,” DuBose said. “It takes alumni to build those traditions. Hopefully, you can come back as a former player and say that you helped build that tradition.”

DuBose and Moncus both have goals for the alumni game and Tiger Night to have staying power.

“We’re hoping this can turn into a yearly thing,” DuBose said.
