Chilton County High School’s Brody Pierce continued the school’s relationship with Chattahoochee Valley Community College by signing his letter of intent and accepting a scholarship to the Pirates program earlier in May.

Pierce’s selection of the JUCO program blended the perfect balance of location close to home and a program that will help him grow and improve as a baseball player. The senior connected with CVCC head coach Hunter Vick on his visit, and he knew quickly where his next step in his baseball career would be.

“Coach Vick reached out to me and I went there on a visit, and I really liked it there,” Pierce said. “It felt like home, I really liked the campus and the community, and that’s what attracted me (to them). And they are one of the better JUCO programs in Alabama and I feel like I can really get better there and move on to a bigger school.”

CVCC has won 10 conference titles, appeared in five World Series and had 29 players who played in the program draft in the MLB Draft. All positive signs towards Pierce’s plan for development in Phenix City over the next two years. Vick and the Pirates plan to utilize Pierce as a centerfielder.

“I just want to go down there and be the best that I can, be coachable and just get better at every aspect of the sport I can,” Pierce said.

Pierce has spent the last four years being involved with the CCHS baseball program with his time on the varsity team starting his freshman year. He has been a full-time varsity player for three years, giving him the firsthand perspective of the impact and tradition the Tigers program has on the area. Pierce loved the community support and involvement that CCHS got each game, and it goes back to the baseball-rich area and the history of the sport in the town.

“It is a nice place to play baseball,” Pierce said. “It meant a lot (to play there), made a lot of good friends and the coaching staff is great.”

Pierce will follow behind former CCHS standout Tre Fulmer who played two seasons at Chattahoochee Valley after signing there in 2023. Fulmer is now moving on to The University of West Alabama.
