Thorsby High School hosted its 10th annual Farm Day on May 9 that allowed its students to get an up-close look at animals and agriculture safety. Thorsby’s FFA program hosted Farm Day for the school’s younger students.
“Farm day is about giving students the opportunity to learn about agriculture,” Thorsby FFA student Ava Robinson said. “It helps them understand that agriculture is not just farming, and why it matters in our everyday lives.”
Farm Day this year featured a variety of barnyard animals including chickens, cows, ducks, goats, horses, pigs and rabbits for students to see. Also, Chilton County 4-H representatives in attendance taught students about chemical look-alikes, soil profiling, forestry and pigeons.
