Jemison High School’s Alexis Varner committed to Miles College and signed an academic and athletic scholarship on May 9. Varner signed her letter of intent alongside family and friends in the JHS auditorium that will continue her over 10-year cheerleading career. Varner did two years of cheerleading in middle school and has spent the last four years on the varsity cheer squad at JHS.

“I’m so excited to not only represent my hometown, but also represent my new school both on the sidelines and in the classroom,” Varner said.

Varner plans to major in computer information systems at Miles.
