Leadership Chilton’s 2025 class got the opportunity to learn about public safety and its significance to the county during their session earlier in April. The class got to interact with many prominent local figures in public safety and learned what goes into these critical roles.

The class was welcomed by Chilton County Sheriff John Shearon, Major Ken Harmon and EMA Director Nic Bolton to get their day started. From there, the class was led by Sgt. 1st Class Trent Martin on a tour of the Ivan F. Smith Armory. The class concluded its day by hearing insights from 19th Judicial Circuit District Attorney CJ Robinson and Clanton Police Chief Erick Smitherman about their departments and how they help residents on a daily basis.
