Chilton County High School’s 2025 soccer season came to an end on a positive note as all three teams fared well and were competitive down the stretch. The varsity boys’ team finished the season with three clean sheets picking up wins in two of the three games.
The Tigers’ varsity boys team played Marbury High School to a draw on April 18, 0-0, but were able to close out their season on April 21 with a 3-0 win over Prattville Christian Academy. Freshman Dayner Mendez opened the scoring against PCA before Josh Loddenkemper fired a rocket in to double the advantage. Julio Galvan capped the scoring with the game’s third and final goal.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the way this group finished the season,” Brandon Gurganus, CCHS varsity boys head coach, said. “Record-wise the season was a bit of a disappointment, but I feel that toward the end of the season we were able to find our direction a bit. I hope we’ll look back on this season as a bit of a transition year, the year where we went from just being happy to have a team and trying to build interest in a program to a legitimate program that competes for playoff spots and championships.”
The varsity girls fell to Marbury 4-1 on April 18 but got a goal from Charleigh Hicks, and they were narrowly defeated by PCA 1-0 on April 21.
The junior varsity boys team defeated PCA 9-1 on April 21 to finish their season with a 13-1-1 record overall.
