Chilton County Schools and its career coaches hosted its annual spring college and career fair at Jefferson State Community College’s Chilton-Clanton campus to help students get a jump start on post-high school plans. Career coaches Karen Easterling, Wendy Fortner, Kelli Inman and Michelle McRae hosted all of the junior and senior students from all six high schools in Chilton County.

Around 50 businesses and over 1,000 students came through the fair that lasted throughout the morning of April 10 and into the early afternoon. Students brought resumes and some secured interviews with companies with possible job opportunities with some of the businesses in attendance.

“We would like to say thank you to all of the students and businesses that attended, along with all of the LeCroy Career Tech instructors and CCS employees that attended and supported this event,” Fortner said.

Fortner also extended a special thank you to the City of Clanton, the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce, Coca-Cola, Deidra Gadberry State Farm and Martin Funeral Home for their sponsorship of the hospitality room.
