MONTGOMERY POST — A multi-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, has claimed the life of a Prattville woman. Lindsey R. Lugen, 20, was fatally injured when the 2013 Hyundai Sonata she was driving struck the rear end of the 1985 Chevrolet Corvette driven by Shelby T. Jones, 40, of Clanton. After the initial impact, the Sonata then collided head-on with the 2013 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Anna L. Walker, 63, of Tuscaloosa. Lugen was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Walker was injured and transported by helicopter to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital for treatment. A 17-year-old, who was a passenger in the Chrysler was also injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred on U.S. 82 near the 105 mile marker, approximately one mile southwest of Maplesville, in Chilton County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
