The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held hearings on April 2-3, two of which featured Chilton County offenders.

On April 2, Jerome Henderson was denied parole by the board, did not receive a reset date and no one spoke in favor or against him being granted parole during his hearing. Henderson is currently serving an 84-month sentence for a Theft of Property I arrest on April 30, 2024 in Montgomery County. He is also serving a Receiving Stolen Property I charge, an 84-month sentence, concurrently with his other charge. Henderson has currently served 11 months and 11 days of his 84-month sentence with 415 days of good time received included. Henderson has a minimum release date of Aug. 7, 2026 unless granted parole prior to that date.

Henderson’s connection to Chilton County stems from a Theft of Property II arrest on July 2, 2014 in the county where he served one year, three months and 23 days of his three-year sentence with one year, seven months and 29 days of good time added to his time.

On April 3, Courtney Sinclair Colley was granted parole by the board with the special conditions to wear an ankle monitor, complete a drug assessment and register with Alabama Experience (ALEX). Two people — Mary Colley, his mother, and Deandre Colley, his brother, spoke in favor of parole being granted, and no one spoke against it. Colley was serving a 96-month sentence for a Theft of Property III and Unlawful Breaking and Entering charge in Chilton County, both on Jan. 11, 2024. Colley had served one year, three months and seven days of his 96-month sentence with 690 days of good time received included. Colley had a minimum release date of Aug. 29, 2026 before being granted parole.
