“Did you hear the good news?”

The He’s Risen Ride rolled to Clanton at the end of March with the help of four ministries driving to represent the resurrection of Jesus Christ and spread the word of God. Bre’s Ministry, Bridge Tenders, Ironworkers and Surrendered Ministries all partnered together for the motorcycle ride that traveled from Sterrett Church in Sterrett to Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Clanton.

“It was great, and God is so good and all glory to him,” Justin Taylor of Surrendered Ministries said. “I think everyone had a great time, and the Lord blessed us.”

Taylor added that the Lord spoke to him to ride through the city to represent him with Easter coming up later in April. The riders met at Sterrett Church at 9 a.m. to register for the ride for $10, and the group then made their way to Harley Davidson of Pelham. The riders enjoyed the Restoration Worship band who led the worship portion of the stop, and raffle prizes were handed out as well. From Harley-Davison, the riders traveled to their final destination at Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Clanton.

A big crowd awaited the riders as they pulled into the church parking lot, and another worship event was held with speakers at the church that included Chris Cotney with Ironworkers, Todd Howard with Surrendered Ministries, Joey Smith with Bridge Tenders and Elizabeth Walker with Bre’s Ministry.

“It was just something the Lord laid on my heart to do,” Taylor said. “These ministries that Surrendered Ministries works with, we all have our hands in together and help each other out here and there … We all had this vision to come together and represent the body of Christ together and just give God the glory. We wanted to go out and spread the love and the seeds of Jesus Christ, and he does the rest.”

Breakfast and lunch were provided with the help of local establishments like B’s Market in Clanton making food donations. The He’s Risen Ride raised $1,300, and all proceeds were split between the four ministries to help aid their addiction recovery ministries, jail ministries and other programs.
