Chilton County native Renee Powers will continue her work with the Republican Party after being reelected to the position of Alabama Republican Party Regional Chairman of Congressional Districts 3, 6 and 7 in March. Powers’ reelection came at the ALGOP winter meeting of the State Executive Committee on March 1 at The Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham.
“I remain committed to working with state and county executive members to fight for the values we all believe in and to help elect Republicans who will serve our state with integrity and vision,” Powers said in a press release. “I’m eager to continue our teamwork, and I look forward to all we will accomplish together.”
Powers will oversee Congressional Districts 3, 6 and 7 that includes Chilton County, but 29 others as well — Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Chambers, Choctaw, Clarke, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Etowah, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lee, Lowndes, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa and Wilcox Counties.
Also, as the Regional Chairman, Powers will have the opportunity to serve on the Alabama Republican Party Steering Committee. The committee operates as the main governing body of the Alabama Republican Party, and it “helps to define the direction of the State Party while preserving and promoting the foundational platform of the Republican Party,” the press release said.
Powers will turn her attention to helping the ALGOP Headquarters in their preparations for the upcoming 2026 elections.
