Carolyn Giles Bonds

Carolyn Giles Bonds, 78, of Hoover, Alabama passed away March 1, 2025, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.
She was born August 21, 1946, in Clanton, Alabama, daughter of the late Luther Giles, Sr. and the late Ophelia Giles.
While on a date at the Clanton drive-in, Carolyn told Lowell she wanted to travel the world. Lowell stated he wanted to stay in Jemison. So, as the Lions Club International Director, they traveled the United States, and the world: India, China, Japan, Canada, North & South Korea, England, Etc. Carolyn enjoyed meeting different people all around the world. After the term as International Director was complete, Carolyn said “I’ve had enough travel!” She was also a retired claims adjuster with Social Security. While recovering, Carolyn loved holding the baby fainting goats on the farm in Jemison.
Surviving are her Husband, Lowell Bonds; Son, Heath (Sheila) Bonds; Granddaughter, Rachel Bonds; Sisters-in-law, Betty Giles, Bobbie Giles; Nieces, Carol (Ricky) Easterling, Judy (Billy) Shields; Nephew, Deryl (Diane) Cherry; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Luther Giles, Sr.; Mother, Ophelia Giles; Brother, Luther Giles, Jr.; Sister, Gloice Ophelia Alfano; and Brother, Earl Giles.
Friends will be received Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Alexander, officiating.
Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Jemison, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lions Club International Foundation or The University of South Alabama Foundations.
