Billingsley High School’s Kyle Boice is this week’s athlete of the week for Oct. 4-10 following his performance against Ellwood Christian School on Oct. 4.
Boice was a one-man show in the Bears’ passing game with 131 of the 153 passing yards in the game. He was quarterback Landon Jones’ favorite target making a team-high four catches for those 131 yards and pulling down two touchdowns. Boice’s four catches for 131 yards is a nearly 33 yards per catch, one of the season’s highest in the Chilton County area for a single game. He also made an impact on the defensive side of the ball for Billingsley with six tackles and an interception.
Boice and the Bears have three more Class 1A Region 4 games this season, and winning two of the three games would put them in the driver’s seat for the fourth spot in the standings and a spot in the Class 1A State Football Playoffs.
