Parole denied for Chilton offending inmate on May 25

The Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles issued parole hearing decisions for multiple inmates on May 25, one of which who was convicted in Chilton County.

Omar Rashad Tyus was denied parole with no reset date by the board on May 25. Tyus is serving a 36-month sentence for possession of a controlled substance-class D. He was sentenced on Feb. 22 of this year.

No one spoke in favor or against Tyus being awarded parole at the hearing on May 25, according to the hearing minutes.
