Area softball tournaments get underway for Chilton County area teams on May 1 and 2. Both Maplesville and Thorsby high schools are hosting their respective area tournaments, and the other five area teams are poised to make a run in their area.

All tournaments are double elimination with the top two teams moving on to regionals. Double elimination means teams will need to win at least two games during the tournament to lock themselves into the regionals.
