Chilton County High School got a win on the road on April 24 prevailing 12-0 over Jemison High School. Mallie Harrison threw a beauty in the circle going the complete five innings and giving up one hit, one walk and striking out two hitters.

The Tigers wasted no time and jumped ahead in the first inning. Macey Pierce started the early rally with a solo home run, and a Jemison error gave CCHS their second run. Maecie Driskell and Gracie Brewer had back to back RBI singles to put the Tigers up 4-0 after the opening frame.

Seven of the 10 CCHS hitters recorded an RBI against Jemison, and the Tigers won the hit battle 10-1.

The Panthers kept the score at 4-0 until the fourth inning when the Tigers’ Chloe Shiers and Pierce had RBI singles that produced three runs and extended their lead to 7-0. Two more runs crossed the plate in the inning to put CCHS up 9-0.

Pierce led the way for the Tigers going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Harrison was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.

Harrison drew a hit by pitch in the fifth inning, and Lily Benson knocked across a run with a groundout to put the finishing touches on the win for CCHS.

Jemison’s Jaclyn Lowery recorded the Panthers hit in the game, and starting pitcher Kinsley Martin was honored before the game for her senior night.

Jemison hosts Maplesville High School on April 25 at 5:30 p.m. in their next game. Chilton County will participate in the Northside High School Tournament from April 28-29.
