The 2023 Chilton County Baseball Tournament was rained out on March 9 at Thorsby High School along with the 2023 Chilton County Softball Tournament at Isabella High School. The opening round game of the baseball tournament between Isabella and Verbena high schools got to the top of the third inning before a second rain delay forced the teams into the dugout and the game was postponed shortly after.

Verbena built an 8-0 lead with four runs in the first inning and four runs in the second inning. Ethan Dopson and Christopher Guzman were both 2-for-2 in their first two plate appearances. Guzman had thrown two innings of no-hit baseball and struck out four Isabella hitters. Verbena piled up nine hits before the game was delayed.

The county baseball tournament will be moved to Jack Hayes Field in Clanton on March 10 where the first-round games will be played. When play continues, Verbena and Isabella will resume their game at 2 p.m. with two outs in the top of the third inning with the Red Devils at bat. Maplesville and Jemison high schools will face off at 4 p.m. and Chilton County and Thorsby high schools will conclude the first-round games at 6:30 p.m. The final day of the tournament on March 11 will be held back at Thorsby High School.

The county softball tournament canceled its pool play round on both March 9 and 10 due to rain.
