From Chilton County 4-H
The Chilton County 4-H Beef Cook Off was held recently with 22 students participating from Clanton Middle School, Thorsby High, Jemison Middle, Jemison High and Maplesville High School.
Dishes were judged on flavor, healthfulness, nutritional value, appearance, and taste.
Winners in the Junior High Division were:
First place: Fillet Mignon and Strawberry Fettuccine Salad by Isaac Looney of Clanton Middle
Second place: Sirloin Steak Skillet by Ryder Rachels of Jemison Middle
Tie for third place: Ribeye with Mushroom Gravy and Mash Potatoes by Mayze Looney of Clanton Middle and Beef Bourguignon by Isabella Lezama of Thorsby High
Winners in the Senior High Division were:
First place: Beef Brisket by Joshua Daniel of Thorsby High
Second place: Italian Rolled Flank Steak by Lauren Jones of Jemison High
Third place: Cheese Ground Beef Empanada by Allison Smith of Jemison High
