From Chilton County DHR

A foster parent training orientation will be held on March 5 at 2 p.m. at the DHR Building at 324 Health Center Drive across from the Health Department.

“Chilton County has excellent foster homes, but we always want more in order to match families with children and children with their school communities,” according to Trayce Chancellor, licensing worker.

She will be leading the orientation and training classes. If you have any interest in being a foster parent, we would like to speak with you.

The trauma-informed foster parent training which consists of 10 weeks of weekly training sessions will begin the week after orientation.

We are looking for more long-term foster care homes, more respite foster homes, more homes for young children, more homes for teens, more homes for groups of sibling and more homes which are bi-lingual.

Please contact 205-258-4915 or 205-258-4927 if you have questions or would like to attend the orientation.
