Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

By JOYANNA LOVE | Managing Editor

A group recently toured the office here at The Clanton Advertiser and was surprised to learn that the press room here prints several other publications.

Those who work with the press are the behind the scenes crew that makes sure each print edition becomes a reality. I offered to have their photos featured with this column, but they opted to have me show some of their work instead.

In addition to The Clanton Advertiser and the North Chilton Advertiser, the press room prints 24 other publications each week. Several of these are sister papers that are also a part of Boone Newsmedia (our parent company), but many are non-affiliated publications that have chosen to send their printing needs here.

While most of these publications span Central Alabama, some are a bit further away, including one in Florida. Often the press here is a good location for them because we are a shorter distance away than other options.

While many may prefer to get their news in virtual form these days, the print version still has appeal. Parents doing scrapbooks for their athlete’s senior year or grandparents of a child that was featured on a photo page often come to the office to get extra copies of the edition for a keepsake for themselves and family members. There is still value in having a tangible copy of something. For me, it’s being able to hold a finished product that we have worked on.

Many who grew up with a print edition of the paper still subscribe today.

However you prefer to get your local news from us, we are thankful for you, our readers.
