The Chilton County Arts Council is gearing up for its Fall for the Arts festival, and there is still time for Chilton County creatives to sign up to sell at the event.

The event will be Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 pm. at the Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center, 1850 Lay Dam Road.

Organizer Mack Gothard described the event as having a variety of hand-crafted and unique items for sale, including local art, local crafts, vintage collectibles and antiques.

Seasonal and holiday items, except food, are also a good fit for vendors at this festival.

Gothard said several vendors have already signed up and are a mix of people who have participated in several past festivals and those participating for the first time this year.

Those wanting to participate as a vendor can sign up at chiltoncountyartscouncil.com/vendor-information.

Vendor registration is $30 for Chilton County Arts Council members and $50 for non-members.

For those wanting to come shop the art and other unique items, admission is free.

Fall has been a traditional season for the Arts Council to host an event. Gothard said when the organization first had a festival, it was always in October, then it was moved to November. More recently the main arts festival has been in July. Last year, the Chilton County Arts Council started having both a July and fall event. At the July event, all of the items are made by the artist selling them. The fall event has more of a holiday market feel.
