Parole board makes decisions on inmates with local ties

The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles made parole decisions recently for three inmates with convictions in Chilton County.

Parole was granted for Frank Robinson. The board voted to grant parole “with special condition to complete NA/AA weekly, drug assessment upon release, Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), mental health follow-up (and) 50 hours community service. The inmate’s mother and sister spoke in favor of the parole being granted, according the meeting minutes.

Robinson had served five months of a 48-month sentence for distribution of a control substance in Chilton County and possession/receiving a control substance – Class D in Elmore County, according to Alabama Department of Corrections records.

Parole was denied for Vanessa Ann Parker and Nakia Lacenta Dejarnette.

At the hearing, Parker’s brother spoke in favor of the parole. No one spoke against the parole being granted at the hearing. Parker has served a year, six months and six days of a 96-month term for receiving stolen property in Elmore and Chilton counties, according to Alabama Department of Corrections records.

Dejarnette received a reset date of September 2024. Dejarnette has served one year, eight months and 10 days of a 15-year sentence for violating the sex offender registry law.
