The Maplesville Town Council recently unanimously approved its budget for the next fiscal year.

The budget anticipates slightly less revenue than the previous fiscal year at $1.41 million, and it includes $1.42 million in expenses.

The largest single source of revenue to the town will come from sales tax, which is expected to be $605,000. This is lower than last year, but still higher than 2020.

Under expenses, the largest budget item is general and administrative at $586,150 followed by the police department at $461,500.

During the meeting where the budget was passed, town council members also discussed and approved budgets for the street department and town hall staff. Funding for this had been included in the budget.
