Residents can expect to see a miniature ‘World of Wheels’ in Jemison on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Jemison. The event is free, and O’Reilly’s is hopeful that the customer appreciation event will bring more vitality to Jemison.

“This is our first annual car show, and we are hopeful that we can continue it every year,” store manager Daniel Burnett said. “We have multiple car groups coming from around the country — from north, south, east and west! We will also save some cars from Central Alabama. We want to bring more people to the town of Jemison in order to promote all of the small businesses here.”

Burnett added that the car show will not only host antique cars but a wide variety of automobiles including 18-wheelers, semi-trucks, motorcycles and “never seen before” autos.

“This is a appreciation event to say ‘thank you’ to our customers,” said Burnett. “We want everyone, of all ages, to come out for this family event and have a good time. We are selling one-dollar raffle tickets to give away prizes throughout the day. If your name is not drawn to win a prize, it will be put into a larger pot to win O’Reilly gift cards for $50 and $100.”

Food trucks will be available. Food truck vendors are welcome to contact O’Reilly’s in advance to set up and coordinate. Car and auto owners that would like to register for the auto show, may pick up an application at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Jemison. There is a $10 registration fee to enter automobiles.  Auto show winning recipients will receive a trophy, be featured in O’Reilly magazine and possibly the 2023 O’Reilly calendar.
