Sara Ward of Chilton County has received an academic and music scholarship to The University of Montevallo. This covers her first year of tuition. She graduated Salutatorian from Valleydale Academy in May 2022.

She was a child music prodigy, winning Tuscaloosa Warrior Fiddle Festival at age 10, and went on to play lead violin and back up at live Worship Concerts for Professional Music Artists: Gary Waldrep, The Old Hee Haw Band, Marty Goetz, Misha Goetz, Barry Segal, Avner Boskey, and Greg Silverman.

Besides music accomplishments, she was involved in the Chilton Trotters 4-H Horse Club and was an Alabama State 4-H Champion two years in a row, going on to compete at the 4-H Regional level.

She currently teaches violin lessons at the Pokana Talahassi Music Store in Clanton.

She is the daughter of John and Kathy Ward.
