Thousands of people converged on Clanton City Park, June 25 to enjoy the annual Peach Jam Jubilee hosted by the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Clanton.  Peach Jam is always a special time for our community, but it is also the perfect time for our community to welcome visitors from outside our area.

While most of the visitors traveled less than two hours to attend, some came from as far away as North Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida.  Chilton County takes center stage in Alabama each year as we celebrate what we are best known for, our peaches and our farmers.

Local businesses and artisans were among the over 150 booths set up in Ollie Park to sell everything from locally grown produce, arts and craft items to boutique fashion and jewelry.

More than 30 food vendors ensured that everyone had plenty to eat and drink for the day.

Games, inflatables and a rock-climbing wall kept the kids entertained and provided some free fun for parents to enjoy.

This year’s event was unique in that our county celebrated its 75th year of the Peach Festival by the Clanton Lions Club. Special events were held onsite at Peach Jam such as the Clanton Lions Club Peach Auction, which raised $50,000 for local charities.

Live entertainment by Kasey Tyndall and Drake White along with the City of Clanton fireworks show gave an exciting end to the day’s celebrations.

Events like Peach Jam bring more than just people to our area.  While visiting, people will often spend money for meals, lodging, gifts, gas and more. These purchases provide tax revenue to our county and municipalities which is then used for infrastructure, public safety and other public needs.

Your Chamber is proud to host the Peach Jam Jubilee and is already making preparations for next year.

In addition to Peach Jam, the Chamber plays a part in many events each year.  From event promotions to volunteer hours, Chamber staff work to promote Chilton County all year.
