Response to a shots fired with victim call on April 24 is being investigated as a domestic dispute.

The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to County Road 771 around 9:15 p.m. on April 24.

Sheriff John Shearon said deputies found a male with a gunshot wound, who was unresponsive.

“Deputies and EMS attempted life saving measures, however, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Shearon said.

Evidence was collected by investigators and witnesses were interviewed.

Although the investigation is ongoing, Shearon said, “based on the facts and the evidence known at this time, Investigators believe this incident to be the result of a domestic dispute. There are no suspects being sought and there is no danger to the community.”

Evidence and information will be presented to the District Attorney’s office when the investigation is complete.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this tragic incident,” Shearon said.
