Victim dies from injuries in April 10 shooting

A victim of multiple gunshot wounds after an argument escalated on First Avenue North in Clanton has died.

Dante Gervaise Milliner, 38, of Clanton had suffered a gunshot wound to the face in the April 10 incident. He was transported to Shelby County Airport via ambulance then airlifted to UAB Hospital.

After being in critical condition, he passed away on April 11 at about 2:30 p.m.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family,” CPD stated in a release.

A suspect has been identified, but police are still investigating the case, and multiple agencies are involved, according to a CPD press release.

The suspect’s name is not being released at this time.
