Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

This week, I had the opportunity to be the first person to share the news with someone that they had received a grant they applied for.

The excitement was evident during the conversation. It was fun to be able to share the good news.

Many in my industry often get blamed for focusing on the negative, but this is not always the case.

Working in Chilton County, I have had the opportunity to share a variety of positive and exciting news as well as some updates that people were not as keen on receiving.

Hearing good news can make someone’s day, and each of us have the power to for this each day. Just smiling at someone can brighten the moment for them on a stress-filled day.

Expressing appreciation to those around you for who they are and what they do can be a huge encouragement.

A few well-timed words of thanks have brought me through at least a few tough times.

Chilton County can focus on the negatives, such as projects taking longer than anticipated, winter weather arriving and supply chain issues. Or, we can focus on the good things that are happening in spite of it all, such as more businesses opening, low unemployment and scenic views as we drive through the county.

Perspective sometimes really is the difference between a good day and a bad one.
