Ellison Memorial Funeral Home, LLC., has taken ownership of Chilton Memorial Gardens, a local cemetery located at 1104 Harriett Street, Clanton.

“We are pleased to add this location to our offerings at Ellison Memorial,” said funeral home owner J. Aaron Ellison. “Chilton Memorial allows us to provide the people of Chilton County, when making final arrangements for their loved ones, a quaint place for peaceful rest.”

According to Ellison, a number of local cemeteries have become so large it is difficult to navigate them and easily find the grave site of friends and loved ones. Ellison said it is his intention to make sure Chilton Memorial Gardens remains easily navigable, neat and orderly.

“We have some work to do there, but when we are through with that work, it will be even more beautiful than it is now,” Ellison said. “The cemetery is flat, which helps those with mobility issues when they visit. It also provides a quiet place where loved ones peacefully visit the graveside of family or friends interred there.”

Ellison took ownership of Chilton Memorial Gardens on Dec. 30. The purchase of the cemetery, Ellison added, was just the first step in exciting things to come in 2022 for his Clanton location.

“We were blessed to serve more than 250 families in 2021. As even more families choose Ellison Memorial to provide final care and arrangements for their loved ones, we look forward to fulfilling our promise of always being here when you need us,” Ellison said. “We are thrilled with the direction and growth of the funeral home and we look forward to even better things this year.”
