Maplesville High School’s Brady Harrison is this week’s athlete of the week. Harrison played a huge role in the team’s 22-15 playoff win over Linden High School on Nov. 12, impacting the game on both sides of the ball.

On offense, Harrison was the team’s leading rusher, picking up 176 yards on 31 rushes, an average of 5.7 yards per rush. He also scored two times on the ground.

On defense, Harrison led the team in tackles with 13, helping out a unit that gave up only 15 points to the defending 1A state champions.

Honorable mention: Zac Chapman, Isabella High School

Zac Chapman had a great performance in Isabella’s 34-25 loss to B.B. Comer Memorial High School on Nov. 12.

Chapman led the ground attack for the Mustangs, picking up 130 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.

Chapman finished the 2021 season with over 1,000 yards rushing, and will look to improve on that total in the 2022 season.
