Following two moves in a span of just months, the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce now has its ideal home.

After a short stint on the second floor of River Bank and Trust, the Chamber is now in the Smith Building in downtown Clanton, located at 205 Sixth St. N.

The building was previously the home of Sadie’s Loft, a boutique that closed its doors at the Clanton location in June 2021.

“We’ve always loved this location, this spot, this building, and after we had moved above the bank, Billy (Singleton) just made mention that we would love to have this because it’s right by Corner Park, it would be a perfect location for us,” Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Rachel Martin said. “The next day, Todd Bowen, the owner called and said ‘Hey, it’s available. Would y’all like to rent it?’ And we jumped on it. It was like it was meant to be.”

The location is a great spot for the Chamber. They are surrounded by new businesses as well as businesses that are in the process of opening their doors. Being in the heart of growth was a big selling point for the building.

“For the businesses to be able to come in and find us, it just makes us easily accessible to them,” Martin said. “They just feel like we can meet their needs quicker and better.”

The hope for the members of the Chamber is that there will be no more moving in the foreseeable future. They really like this location, and would be thrilled to make it their home for a long time.

“We hope to be here as long as Todd (Bowen) will allow us,” Martin said.
