Gardens celebrates National Assisted Living Week

This year for National Assisted Living Week, The Gardens of Clanton enjoyed a “road trip” with experiences from multiple states without having to leave home.
First stop was Texas the Lonestar State. Residents found their inner cowgirl/cowboy, enjoyed some delicious Texas style Chili and were entertained by Jessie Lynn (Alabama singing cowgirl and Limestone County’s Sheriff’s Rodeo 2021 Queen).
Clanton Mayor Jeff Mims also presented a Proclamation for NALW.
“This year’s NALW was hands down one of the best if not the best National Assisted Living weeks we have ever had here at The Gardens of Clanton,”.
On the second day, residents stepped out into the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada. Residents played their luck at the black jack and craps tables, took some glamour shots on the red carpet and enjoyed a wonderful steak dinner.
No road trip is complete without a stop in the big apple. On the third day, residents went site seeing, took a subway ride, and of course had a shopping spree in NYC the City that never sleeps. Residents were also escorted by Sheriff John Shearon and his deputy through Central Park.
The next day, residents made a stop in Memphis, Tennessee. Residents enjoyed an old fashion drive in movie experience and had a delicious BBQ lunch in a retro styled diner. In by far their favorite surprise of the week, Elvis made an appearance and serenaded several lucky ladies.
On the fifth day we made it to the Sunshine State, Florida. Residents got to experience the beach, Legoland and Walt Disney World.
The week ended with a raging tailgate party with special guest Russell Jones from WBRC Channel 6 News. We also had an employee/resident appreciation ceremony. We were also very thankful for the umbrellas and words of appreciation from Cavalier Senior Living. We would like to thank all of our sponsors, volunteers, donors, reps, Chilton County community members, Mims, Shearon, our lively residents, and our wonderful staff for this amazing week that would not have been possible without each and every one of them.
“We have always been blessed with the amount of support we receive, however this year the amount of support we have received has been astronomical and we cannot convey just how thankful we truly are,” Vickie P. Moseley, administrator, said.
She also expressed thanks to the numerous community members and organizations that sponsored the week’s events to make it successful.
“Although COVID-19 has altered the entire world we are thankful that we were able to take this week to celebrate our residents, staff, reps, nurses/therapist, doctors and everyone that continued to persevere and who’s dedication to The Gardens of Clanton, and it’s residents never wavered,” Moseley said.
