Week two was rivalry week in Chilton County. The week got started with Chilton County High School knocking out Jemison High School on Aug. 26. The next night, Maplesville High School edged out Isabella High School in a back-and-forth game, winning on a touchdown run late in the fourth quarter.

While those two were a couple of the most highly anticipated games of the season, there were other games played in the county, including another game between in-county foes. Here’s how those games went down.

Thorsby High School 54

Verbena High School 0

Following week one wins for both teams, this game was a chance for both Thorsby and Verbena to get off to a really hot start in the 2021 season. The Rebels were the ones who took control though, dominating the game from start to finish.

AJ Smith once again had a stellar night, finishing the game with 94 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving. Those two brought his season touchdown total to five after just two games.

Luke Davis once again had a terrific game for the Rebels as well. The senior QB went 6-for-8 passing the ball for 64 yards and three touchdowns. He added 38 rushing yards and another score off six carries.

Vincent High School 40

Billingsley High School 6

Billingsley came into week two trying to start off its season 2-0 for a second consecutive year.

Instead, the Bears took their first loss of the season against Vincent High School.

The Bears unfortunately had no answer for Vincent on either side of the ball all game. Defensively, they struggled to contain the Yellow Jackets attack. Offensively, they struggled to put points on the board.
