The Humane Society of Chilton County has an opportunity to send some felines to rescue, which is a rare opportunity with cats as there are so many everywhere.

A sponsorship is $50 to get a cat to the rescue. Sponsors or donations can be made in person, by mail to P. O. Box 1617, Clanton, AL 35046, or through PayPal at chiltonhumane.paypal@gmail.com.  Make sure to state the purpose of your sponsor or donation – “Sponsor Felines” or “Donation for Felines.”

It is kitten season, and the animal shelter went from 20 felines one day to 80 felines the next day – cats, moms with kittens, and kittens with no moms. Some of the most beautiful felines ever are needing a home.

The number of cats and kittens is expected to increase.

“The shelter is no place to keep felines healthy, as there is simply little to no ventilation in the facility,” Renee Helms of the Humane Society of Chilton County said. “It will get worse for these fur babies as the days go along. The staff does all they can do to save these babies and keep them healthy, but we cannot do this without your help.”
