From Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church

The Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church held a dedication ceremony to dedicate a newly renovated children’s center. In recognition of outstanding contributions, the Mt. Nebo Children’s Center was dedicated as the “Judeen Culp Ellison Children’s Center.”

In 1982, the original building was constructed to serve as the fellowship hall and did so until 2018.

The building renovation was finished in January 2021 and was renovated to provide more space for the growing children’s ministry. The building features three classrooms – a nursery, a children’s classroom, and a youth classroom. The building was designed with kids in mind and provides children of all ages a place to fellowship, worship, and develop their relationship with God.

Ellison provided the following statement regarding the dedication, “I’m honored! I was completely surprised and I still can’t believe it. Although this building bears my name, this dedication really goes to all the people who have come before me.”

Pastor Tony Hughes presented a proclamation, building dedication sign, and plaque to Ellison

during the church service Sunday.

“Today our congregation dedicated the new children’s center to the most deserving lady, Judeen Culp Ellison. The church wanted to demonstrate a fitting tribute to express its appreciation and gratitude for all the contributions she has made and continues to make,” Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church Pastor Tony Hughes said.
