Problems with a sewer pump have caused the temporary closure of LeCroy Career Technical Center.

Chilton County Schools Superintendent Jason Griffin released a statement around 2:45 p.m. on Nov. 30.

“Lecroy Career Technical Center will be closed indefinitely due to an issue with the sewer pump,” Griffin stated.  “Students who attend LCTC will remain on their home campuses during their class time at LCTC.  LCTC employees will also not be on campus due to the lack of sewer service.  We hope to have the problem resolved as soon as possible.”

Griffin said the “mechanical breakdown of the discharge line on the sewer pump” was found by maintenance personnel as they were checking the system ahead of low temperatures expected this week.
