Butterfly Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center is looking for auction item donors and sponsors for its 2021 Flutter fundraiser.

“The community is always very generous and there is always a lot of different and unique things,” Brittani Ellison, Butterfly Bridge events and development coordinator, said.

She said the silent auction items are always divided into groups based on value of the items.

Past items have included paintings, trips, furniture, cakes, certificates for free oil changes, etc.

“(We) like to have a wide array of items just so there is something for everybody there depending on what your tastes are and what you feel comfortable with as far as bidding,” Ellison said.

Those interested in donating an item to the auction can let Butterfly Bridge know through the form at flutter.swell.gives/auction.

Donors need to have the form filled out by Jan. 22. Drop off dates for auction items will be Jan. 25, 2-4 p.m. and Jan. 29, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ellison said other options may be available on a case-by-case basis for getting an item to the organization.

A live auction will also be held towards the end of Flutter with five to six items.

Flutter: Reborn has been set for Feb. 4, 2021. Ellison said the theme had been selected at the suggestion of board member D.J. Hines.

“Just thinking about a child when they come to our center it is usually a very tough time in their lives, a time when they may feel broken or sad, it’s a dark time as well for the family perhaps that are supporting the child,” Ellison said. “We look at it as a caterpillar going into chrysalis, being reborn into a beautiful butterfly and being able to continue on with their lives. The goal is really to heal and restore childhood.”

Sponsorships are also available. Ellison said these opportunities range from $100 to $2,500. A complete list is available at checkout.swell.gives/flutter/sponsorships.

“On our website, it gives you an idea what that amount might go toward as far as services,” Ellison said.

The 2020 event raised $58,412.

“It was an amazing year and we are just thankful for a community that continues to support Butterfly Bridge each year,” Ellison said.
