The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles has denied parole for two inmates with connections to Chilton County.

Non-violent offender Kenneth Cartheal Mims and violent offender Brandon Leigh Cargill were both denied parole on Sept. 30, according to information released by the Board of Pardons and Parole on Oct. 6.

Mims is serving a five-year sentence for manufacture of a controlled substance in Chilton County.

Cargill is serving a 20-year sentence for Burglary I and Theft of Property I in Montgomery with concurrent sentences for Theft of Property I in Autauga County and Burglary III in Chilton, all in 2007. He is also serving concurrent sentences for destroying state property and Offenses – Public Order/Safety C from 2008.
