Candidates for Mayor

Robert Hight (incumbent)

Political party: Republican

Age: 51

Education: High School, Trade School classes, Alabama Water Operator Course

Personal message: I may not have grown up in Thorsby myself, but I am fully vested in this great town. My three children have been raised in Thorsby. Two of my children have graduated from and my youngest will graduate from Thorsby High School in 2012. I have two grandchildren being raised in Thorsby.  I opened my business in Thorsby and have operated it here for 10 years now. I have always and will continue to do my best for Thorsby and its residents. Please come out and vote on August 25 to re-elect Robert Hight for Mayor of Thorsby.

Personal message: I would like to see the town of Thorsby live up to its potential. I think that based on my education and business experience, I can help Thorsby to do more than just survive, but to actually grow and prosper. I have lived most of my life in Thorsby, and I’d like to unite the people of Thorsby, in an effort to create the best town we can for future generations.

Personal message: I want to be involved more with the town and its citizens. I would like to see Thorsby reach its full potential again. I want to bring businesses back and help encourage growth here. My heart is in this town and my love for the people is my driving force.

Personal message:

I am seeking re-election for seat #2 on the Thorsby Town Council. I was born and raised here in Thorsby. I grew up following my mom and dad, Judy and Gary Cleckler around the baseball, softball and football fields. This is one of the many reasons I have so much love and passion for my hometown. I also served on the Thorsby Park and Recreation Board from 2007-2019. I went to Thorsby High School and graduated in 1998. I still live here, have been married to Chris Chapman for almost 19 years, have a 17-year-old daughter Gracey Chapman, and a 14-year-old son Braden Chapman who both also attend Thorsby High School. I would love and appreciate your vote on August 25th for a seat on the Thorsby Town Council.

Personal message: If re-elected for the Thorsby Town Council position, I hope to continue working with our mayor and council members to seek growth for our town by promoting Thorsby as a desirable location for potential future businesses. I also would like to be actively involved with seeking avenues to enhance our community through beautification projects that spotlight the historical areas of our town. I hope to continue partnering with our citizens to make Thorsby the best place possible to raise a family.
