A Jemison man was killed May 9 in a single-vehicle crash, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

According to Alabama State Troopers, Alan C. Giles, 66, was traveling on Alabama Highway 145 near the 7 mile marker approximately three miles south of Jemison around 5 a.m. that day in a 1991 Jeep Wrangler.

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a ditch.

“Giles was not using a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene,” said ALEA in a release. “Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
