CES celebrates Dr. Seuss and careers

Clanton Elementary School looked to the future as a part of Dr. Seuss week on March 3.
Inspired by the Dr. Seuss classic “Oh, the Places You’ll Go,” students dressed up as what they wanted to be when they grow up.
Some chose professions similar to that of a family member or someone they looked up to.
Zayden Nunn was dressed as P.E. teacher Coach C. He said he enjoys gym class and running.
“I wanna be a mommy because my mommy is a mommy, and I’ve always wanted to have a baby,” Elliana Owen said.
Medical and military careers were also popular choices.
Adalyn Knight chose to dress like a doctor “because I want to be a doctor when I grow up.”
“I just want to be it so bad,” Adalyn said.
She likes that doctors give shots to help people stay well.
Isaiah Hubbard also chose to be a doctor. His outfit was complete with an official ID badge.
Peyton Chatham said she wants to be a “baby nurse because I like babies and nurses.”
Caiden Gadberry chose to be an “army man” because his father is in the U.S. Army. He even got to wear his father’s hat for the event.
Connor Davis chose to be a detective.
“I just like detectives,” Connor said. “They look for clues.”
Some students chose a career based on their love for animals.
Sarenity Minor chose to be a zookeeper because “I like animals.”
Ady Robbins wants to be a veterinarian “because I love animals, and I have a pet cat and a German Shepherd named Spirit.”
To be a veterinarian, “you’ve got to take care of animals,” she said.
Ellison Ferguson chose being an artist “because I love to do art.” Her outfit was complete with a paint palette she created.
Millie Wilkins chose to dress as an astronaut.
“I just chose it because I don’t know what I am going to be,” Millie said.
She likes how astronauts “can float in space.” To be an astronaut, “you would have to be prepared,” she said.
Many Chilton County Schools help Dr. Seuss related events in celebration of the beloved author’s birthday on Read Across America Day and throughout the week.
