Offices closing for Christmas

Several government and community entities are closing for Christmas.

Clanton City Hall will be closed Dec. 25-27. The garbage pickup schedule will be impacted. All residents on routes usually picked up during the week (Monday through Friday) should put trash cans out the night of Dec. 22. Residents are reminded to place boxes and wrapping paper in trash bags so it does not blow away. Clanton City Hall will also be closed on Jan. 1.

Jemison City Hall will be closed Dec. 23-25 as well as Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

According to Republic Services, the company that provides garbage pickup service for Jemison, “Due to the holidays, we will not run on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day, both on a Wednesday. We will run a day behind at the end of both weeks finishing on Saturday.”

Maplesville Town hall will be closed Dec. 23 – 25 for the Christmas holiday.

Town clerk Dawn Smitherman said the garbage routes would be impacted. Garbage usually picked up on Thursday would be picked up on Friday, and garbage route that are usually picked up on Friday will be done on Saturday.

The town hall will also by closed Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

However, this will not impact the garbage pick-up schedule.

Thorsby Town Hall will be closed Dec. 24-25. Garbage pickup for those days will be on Dec. 23. Thorsby Town hall will also be closed on Jan. 1.

The Chilton County Courthouse will be closed on Dec 24-25 and Jan. 1.

The Chilton/Clanton Public Library will be closed Dec. 24-26 as well as Jan. 1. The library will close at noon on Dec. 31.
The Chilton County Extension Office will be closed Dec. 23 through Jan. 5
