Guardian Credit Union partnered with the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce for a bench dedication at the Chamber office Nov. 21.

Representatives from Guardian were on hand to set up the bench for the Chamber.

“The bench signifies the connection that is made whether you are two people sitting on a bench or the connection Guardian makes with our members either in our branches or in the community,” said Rachel Stewart with Guardian. “It is important to us to be a part of the community and make those connections.”

Stewart said that Guardian plans to make nine additional benches (for a total of 10) that will be placed either in branches or other areas in communities that the credit union serves. Guardian has locations across 15 counties in Alabama.

“We love the Chamber,” Stewart said. “We are very appreciative of the Chamber to take this on for us. It speaks to the connections we make with our Chambers and how important they, are not only to us, but all the small businesses in the communities.”

Chamber Executive Director Francine Wasden said the Chamber was “excited” to add the bench to the office.

“I think it will be a real plus for all the walkers that go up and down our street from the park,” she said. “They can take a break when they get to the top of the hill. It’s definitely an addition for our Chamber office, and we love it. We love partnering with our businesses.”

“It is a beautiful little spot, and I know a lot of people walk in this area,” Stewart said. “Hopefully they can sit and make connections with folks. I think this is the perfect little spot for it.”

The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce office is located at 500 Fifth Avenue N in Clanton.
