Christ Independent Church will host the Mark Dubbeld Family in concert on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.

The concert is free, but a love offering will be taken.

The group is from Moneta, Virginia, and includes Mark and Janene and their three children.

They were a mainstage artist at the 2019 National Quartet Convention.

“This is a well-known group in Ohio and around the Tennessee area, not as well known in this area, so we wanted to get them here and introduce them to the area and let people,” Laurel Adams of Christ Independent Church said.

Some members of the church had heard the group perform at a camp they attended.

“I love to hear them, just hoping we have a really good turnout,” Adams said. “I’m really just looking forward to hearing them sing. They are really good.”

She described their style as Southern gospel with many of their song being originals written by the group.

The group has had seven top 40 singles, Adams said.

While Christ Independent usually has special musical guests for homecoming, Adams said the church does not often host concerts.

Christ Independent Church is located at 17054 County Road 29 in Jemison.
