Wes Dunsieth will be a new assistant principal for Chilton County High School.

“Chilton County has a good rapport in the area,” Dunsieth said. “I have a lot of friends who work there and who graduated from there who spoke highly of it.”

His first day on the job will be July 22.

The Chilton County Board of Education approved Dunsieth to fill the position vacated by Jason Deason during a meeting on July 16.

Deason has accepted an assistant principal position at Benjamin Russell High School, which is closer to where he lives in Alexander City.

Dunsieth lives in Millbrook and will be commuting from there to CCHS.

The “family atmosphere” at CCHS is one of the things that appealed to him about the school.

“It felt really good going in meeting some of the students,” Dunsieth said of his visit to the school.

Dunsieth has a Master of Science in education from Auburn University in Montgomery and a Bachelor of Science in social sciences from Troy University.

He was a history teacher and baseball coach at Stanhope Elmore High School last year. Dunsieth has worked in education since 2009.
