The Chilton County Arts Council is hosting its 9th Arts Festival on July 27 at the Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center.

Admission is free. The festival will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Coordinator Mack Gothard said the festival has several vendors that come year after year.

“I am looking forward to seeing the new things that artists have come up with,” Gothard said.

He said all of the vendors at the festival will be selling their own work.

“It is artists selling their handcrafted items,” Gothard said. “That’s what separates us (from other festivals),”

This year will feature 40 to 50 artists from throughout Alabama.

Artwork will include paintings, wood, fabric, glass, jewelry and other art mediums.

Vendors will have a range of prices making it easy for everyone to find something.

The Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center is located at the back of the Jefferson State Community College Chilton-Clanton Campus at 1850 Lay Dam Road in Clanton.
